How we design your website.

You tell us what you want

This can be a long email, a Word document or a simply a chat with us! The principal ideas we discuss are :

• What is the website for? For example to advertise events, get more customers or more members of your society, a showcase of your art, - the list is endless, just tell us what the website should achieve.
• Who is your intended audience? Perhaps some demographic information required here. Mainly the question to ask is - what will a visitor to your site do after they've seen viewed the website?
• We will need your contact details - email, phone, address, WhatsApp even. We put these at the top of your website tomake it easier for visitors to get hold of you. Some websites tend to hide these in complex menus, oddly enough.
• Do you have any examples of existing websites you like the look of?
• Any particular requirements for the site - is accessibility a key factor (for example, we are working a site for dyslexics)? Any must-haves or maybe-nice-to-have - anything, just ask!

Contract!

We have a simple contract that we ask you to sign, and then a small deposit to be paid. Once that id done we start development.

We get working on it

Once we have an idea of what the site will look like, we will ask for photographs (jpg/png format please), text, logos (we can design a simple one if you like), perhaps some existing stationary to look at. And the contact deatils (including a Google Map) that you want at the top.

We will create a temporary website for you to look at and comment on. This is the fun bit really, as we can be flexible, we can incorporate any changes you want to make the website look its best.

Go live!

Once you are happy with the temporary site, we ask for the full payment and one year's maintenance charge. Then we sort out the domain name and email - both owned by you - and press the go live button! This traditionally takes 48 hours for the site to rattle round the world, but we have seen it appear in a few minutes.

Tweeks and events

Included in the maintenance charge are up to 12 events and any minor tweeking you might want - new photos, delete old ones etc. We should say - a complete site redesign isn't included, though we can discuss how much this might cost. We will invoice you for the maintenance charge every year. If you should not wish for Lilac Pixel to continue with the site, then you can engage another web designer, who will not need to contact us at all to do the transfer.
